The Kickstarter project for Road Redemption by DarkSeas Games completed successfully with $173,803 funding on 12 May 2013. While this doesn’t reach the first stretch goal of $178,000 for Xbox 360 support, the team are looking for additional PayPal donations that will bring them up to the required amount and onto the Oculus Rift goal at $198,000.
Next on the cards is the opening of the official Road Redemption forum, followed by the developer collecting backers’ details for the hall of fame. Last time we posted about the project there wasn’t a dedicated website for DarkSeas Games but a new page has been created for accepting PayPal donations, mirroring the backing levels from their Kickstarter project.
If you missed out the first time around but want to get into the action with the game, it’s still possible to do so from the new website to help reach the remaining two stretch goals. It’s the first time we’ve experienced a developer extending the Kickstarter project using their own funding methods, but if it helps achieve the Xbox 360 and Oculus Rift support it’s definitely a good idea.
